If ever you have visited London, then you must have understood the fact that why Bollywood is obsessed with this most amazing destination. The London Bridge, the country roads, the nightlife, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Big Ben, British Museum, River Thames, and never-ending places that Bollywood has utilized in its movies.

If ever you have visited London, then you must have understood the fact that why Bollywood is obsessed with this most amazing destination. The London Bridge, the country roads, the nightlife, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Big Ben, British Museum, River Thames, and never-ending places that Bollywood has utilized in its movies.

Whenever the word ‘Romance’ strikes our mind we could only recall Shahrukh Khan, the king of romance and Yash Chopra, the magician to create a romantic aura. There is a list of movies starting from DDLJ to Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which established a strong bond between Bollywood industry and London. You can never get off from the magic of London and Bollywood is the biggest example of this.

This never-ending love of Bollywood for London will never to an end because movies like Namastey London, Chak de India, Cheeni Kum, Goal, Pardes, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, and much more already been directed in London and still there are much more to be directed in the city of dreams.

Earlier, it was not an easy task for every director to shoot their movies in London; Directors like Yash Chopra were the only ones who could approach such an expensive and an extravagant city to direct their movies. DDLJ, Pardes, Lamhe, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, all were shot in London. But now the scenario has changed; Now even, a small budget movie is also being shot in London.

Romance and London, both are a synonym to each other. Whenever we think of Shahrukh doing romance on the film screen, we could only imagine either mustard fields or London bridge.

The connection between the two is unbroken. Even Shahrukh also confessed his love for London in various interviews. Whenever he gets time, he does visit London with his family. His latest movie ‘Fan’ was an only Bollywood movie to be shot in Madame Tussaud museum for the first time. Before ‘fan’, no Bollywood movie was shot at this museum.

It was a great honour for Bollywood industry because the museum is filled with various statues of Bollywood iconic stars, including, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Varun Dhawan. This shows that even London can never be overcome by the magic of Bollywood!

London is famous for its theatres, dramas, and stage shows and that is the reason that most of our Bollywood celebrities have performed live in London. If you want to witness and know the taste of some of the iconic and exemplary plays and the famous characters, then you must visit Royal Opera House. If you want to visit some of the prominent places where you can relax, then you must visit sunset view from Waterloo Bridge, St, Paul Cathedral, Syon House,

Richmond Park, The Horniman museum and garden, and various other places. Bollywood has even connected itself with London on a personal level. Shahrukh Khan, who has done lots of movies in London, has sent his son Aryan to study there. Shahrukh even shops his clothes from London and his famous hotspots for shopping locations are Oxford Street and Harrods. There is various must-visit list of stores at Oxford Streets that you shouldn’t miss if you are going there for shopping. These stores are Selfridges, Uniqlo, Zara, Urban Outfitters, John Lewis, and various others.

If you talk about vibrancy, richness, colors, enthusiasm, zeal, and everything that excites your energy level and make you feel livelier, then London is the best place to visit. You will get everything in one place. Earlier, Bollywood was more focused towards Switzerland, but now the affection and passion have shifted towards Great Britain.

Now the stars are openly speaking about their love for Britain and their interest in shooting movies in London. Saif Ali Khan had his higher education in London and that is why he feels a special connection with the place. In one of his movie named, Phantom, the main location was London and there are various important scenes in the movie that were shot at various locations in London.

Some of the important scenes from the movie ‘Mujhse Dosti Karoge’ starring Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, and Rani Mukherjee were shot at Natural History Museum, Stratford Jubilee Line, and Albert Memorial. Situated at Kensington gardens, The Albert Memorial is constructed in a Gothic style and was having a seated figure of King Albert.

There are various other movies that have been shot in London at various locations, for instance, Baghban was shot at Leicester Square and London Eye, Baabul was shot at South Bank, Salam-e-Ishq was shot at Trafalgar Square and Hungerford Bridge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham was shot at Hay’s Galleria, Albert Embankment, and British Museum.

Bollywood is always in the heart of London, rather London was always settled in the heart of India as well as of Bollywood industry for ages. The relation between the London and Bollywood can never be overlooked; it was always there!
